The Dalmatians is Jonny DC Bolan and Wil Allen, both with extensive experience in public and private performance, and both coming from rock bands in Sydney and south-eastern NSW respectively.
The Dalmatians most recently honed their love of Aussie acoustic rock as the house band for ‘The Hamlet’ in Braddon ACT over the winter and spring of 2017. The Dalmatians use acoustic guitars as well as harmonica, loop pedals and a stomp box to create a warm mix of pub classics and woody ballads.
The Australian bands they cover include Paul Kelly, Pete Murray, Crowded House, The Church, Powder Finger, Silverchair, and Hunters & Collectors. Rock department is covered with Oasis, The Verve, U2, George Ezra and even AC/DC. In the mellow and meaningful department their repertoire covers Coldplay, REM, Pink Floyd and Bob Dylan. Boy bands get a look in with One Direction and Five Seconds of Summer. In blues rock they cover great acts such as The Black Keys, Ben Harper and Jimi Hendrix. When it gets late, don’t worry, the Dalmatians have those end-of-night singalong numbers to send your satisfied guests on their merry way.
Wil has a strong and genuine vocal to deliver on the original emotion of these great songs and he has the stamina and professionalism for encores and requests. Jonny is a unique guitarist, accurate in his re-presentation of the licks on the original recordings but also intuitive in leading the interpretation required to suit the two- piece situation. With their easy-going demeanours, eons of experience and long play list, Wil and Jonny will adapt to your requirements, fit into your room and come to your audience. The Dalmatians come with their own PA system or we can connect into an existing system.
